CUPERTINO, CA -- Symantec Corporation, (NasdaqGS: SYMC) claimed that it was granted summary judgement in a patent dispute with SRI International, a Menlo Park research group. SRI maintained that Symantec had infringed its patents relating to network intrusion detection processes. Prior to trial, the court held that SRI's patent claims were invalid due to publications authored by SRI employees more than one year prior to the patent claim. SRI has the option of appealing the verdict.
